The south facing Sisters Vineyard in the Dundee Hills, planted in 1987 to UC Davis clones of Pinot Noir, ripens fruit well to give a full expression to ripe black cherry fruit with hints of violets, mineral, earth, and spice. Even in a warm year such as 2018, the wine retains a lovely freshness; the colour is not exaggerated, and the tannins are silky and very fine. This wine drinks well enough now, but it should be a
